Children of many ages have become passive consumers of technology. They view it as simply a tool to entertain, practice a skill, or find a bit of information. I love allowing my students to learn that they are the creators and inventors! Students will often raise a hand and tell me "It won't let me," when they are using a laptop, but I tell them "That machine doesn't tell you what it wants to do; you can tell it what to do, when to do it and how to do it!" I enjoy teaching students how coding languages "tell" these tools how to help us. Using a set of Makey Makey Invention Literacy tools will help youngsters collaborate, create and connect to the world around them via science, technology, engineering, and even music!
