Understanding science concepts within a 44 minute time frame can seem daunting. Factor in learning disabilities/difficulties and the subject could outright deter any student. Hopefully with the help of technology, both in and out of the classroom, that perspective could change. Having Chromebooks in the classroom would not only help demonstrate different science principles but make them that much more engaging. In addition to an extra tool for understanding concepts, the technology could be used for looking at real world data- something that textbooks simply lack. Engaging students with disabilities entails activating multiple senses which would be facilitated by these Chromebooks. Finally, living and prospering in this modern world requires a familiarity and mastery of technology. By having more structured screen time my students would have the chance to further their tech skills and boost their confidence in tackling any facet of life after high school.
