This year, our school began to make the transition to becoming a digital school. However, headphones were not provided. This week we decided to do a "trial week" to see how our students would respond to having access to the devices. I noticed that the majority of them were distracted by what their partners were doing because they could hear everything everyone else was doing in their computers. I feel that giving students their individual set of headphones will make computer time more effective considering that it would block the outside noise and help students remain focus on what they are supposed to be learning. For example, a lot of my students need phonics instruction, having the headphones will allow them to focus on the sounds that they are supposed to be listening to. It will help keep the distractions at a minimum.
