Make a Speech Pathologist Speechless With Technology
Funded Aug 14, 2022Your donations for my project has truly helped make my services successful this school year. I have always envisioned having my own technology for my students. In the past, I have had to limit what I can offer my students since I could not depend on technology. Now I can plan anything that requires technology. I typically use the iPads for review games for the students. I also used it to allow students to research high schools for their high school applications. There are apps that I have downloaded for use with some students who have dyslexia and reading difficulties. The possibilities are endless.
When I first announced and showed my returning students the iPads, they had so many questions. "Are they really yours?" "How did you get them?" "Will we be able to use them?" It brings joy to say they are mine and for their use. I, of course, let them know about all the generous donors who made it possible. When I bring them out, they immediately reach out to get one and remain focused on the task.
I can without a doubt say that EVERY SINGLE student is especially warmed by the iPads. I will say that my students with reading difficulties get the most use through the apps and websites that I am able to connect them with. I am so grateful for technology and all the donations that made this possible.
Thank you again for making my first project a success!”

Let's Make Ends Meet!
Funded Aug 24, 2022Your donations for my project has truly helped make my services successful this school year. Last year, I ordered a projector to use as a visual for my students when giving mini lessons on Powerpoint or showing short video clips. My only issue was I did not have an adapter for my computer to connect. Now with the adapter, we have used the projector for multiple mini lessons, short videos, even to show the students pictures as visuals. My students benefit the most from this as many of my students are visual learners. When they can see ideas and concepts, it helps for them to hold onto information. When I try to show the students something on my laptop, they tend to ask for the projector. They have now become accustom to the use of this technology and they enjoy it. Whenever I have the projector already out, they gladly ask "what are we doing today?". Lastly, I have a handful of students who especially love setting up the projector with the adapter.
As for my organizer and paper, this has made organizing and preparing for lessons much easier. I am able to keep the papers in two drawers and my technology pieces in the last one.
Thank you again for making my second project a success!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bermudez
