This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 14 other donors.

I would like to create a teacher lending library of professional books focused around the topics of Equity (BIPOC/LGBTQ+/Gender), Social Justice, and Culturally Responsive Teaching. I hope to have a dedicated time during weekly staff meetings for teachers to share what they are reading and make book recommendations to others. From this, I am sure we then will continue the work of how to best address social justice issues and equity on our campus. Teachers are natural lifelong learners and it's important we model this learning to our students every day. Therefore, this lending library will be kept in a high traffic area so that students see teachers and staff browsing the library and checking out books.
