Our students struggle with reading. Allowing current events, that in fact may have many connections to their lives, they will stay engaged and want to learn. Students always have trouble staying engaged with reading and also current events. I feel that these articles would help studnts understand the world around them better. Many students have never been very far from home. These articles would help them learn that there is more than just what is here. Having books that are both educational and easy to read will help students feel more confident and comfortable in their reading and hopefully help build strong reading habits.
