  • Games, Games, Games for Second Graders

    The students have enjoyed playing with their new games so much. We had a solid two weeks of indoor recess in the month of February, and they loved the opportunity to play hands on games with their peers. It has helped them grow socially as peers by reinforcing necessary social skills like taking turns, sharing, being a good sport, etc. Additionally, students are able to choose extra game time in the classroom instead of heading outside for recess for an extra special prize. These opportunities would not have been possible with your generous donations!”

I will use the supplies to meet with students across multiple grade levels in a before-school club to create some fun small acts of kindness. They will bring in their blank canvases (rocks that they find), washed and ready to go. We will get to spend some time together painting, and getting to know each other while we work. My vision is that the opportunity to paint together will impact growth of student friendships, and also foster their creative and artistic skills. Some sessions might be more directed where they practice their listening skills and following directions, and other sessions might include a freer form of painting.

About my class
