• Every Day Supplies for the Wise

  Funded Oct 8, 2023

  My students and I are using the supplies for basic hygiene needs and to prevent illnesses. We can never have enough napkins. We will use the cups for our projects. I love that they have a music theme because I like to incorporate arts into other content areas.

  My students really liked the music themed cups. They love art and are excited whenever we use art supplies or engage in theme-based activities. They also love learning about music.

  The next steps are to also incorporate the cups for STEAM activities. We use a variety of supplies and materials to foster creativity and engineering. We are fortunate enough to have a Maker Space room where students can explore. The supplies will come in handy. We greatly appreciate your support.”

• Continuing to Grow as an Educator

  I am using the resources to pay for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards components/certification. I want to be the best teacher I can be. National Board teachers address all their students' needs and are constantly reflecting and improving their lessons based on data and feedback. They also collaborate with other teachers and colleagues, as well as members of the community. I enjoy participating in professional developments because it benefits my students. I want to always be improving because I think teaching is one of the most important professions in the world.”

• Reaching the Highest Echelon in Teaching

  Thank you for supporting me in my pursuit to become a national board certified teacher. I am learning how to address the needs of all my students, including their social emotional needs. I am also learning how to communicate effectively with parents and all other stakeholders to ensure that all my students needs are met.

  I am learning how to effectively collaborate with my grade-level teachers as well as teachers from other grade levels at my school. I also network with teachers from different schools and districts. I have learned so much from other teachers and have been inspired by them. I also participate in professional development on an ongoing basis to help me reach the highest echelon in teaching.”

• Technology for the 21st Century

  Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. Technology is an essential part of learning, especially for STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math), the next generation science standards. Students are expected to integrate technology with other subjects. Students also use the chromebooks to access online programs like Zearn, Lexia, and Scootpad. These programs are adaptive and give students immediate feedback. My students also learned how to code. Thank you for giving my students the tools they need to succeed.”

• Full STEAM Ahead: Technology for Next Generation Science Projects

  These chromebooks will help my students master the next generation science standards, STEAM, which integrate science, technology, engineering, arts and math. They will also prepare them for 21st-century jobs. These chromebooks will also motivate students to learn because students enjoy using technology. My students were so excited when I told them that they were going to learn how to code and build a robotic superhero. It's also important to use diverse modalities when teaching because students have different strengths.”
