New School Year, New Needs for RISE Students
Funded Jul 9, 2024This year we were blessed with many items that have allowed the students to thrive in an environment that is changing on a daily basis to support their individual needs. It has been an great experience since receiving the donations. The students are progressing on social/emotional skills, adaptive functional skills, and academics are blooming.
This donation request covers the students whole day. They have been utilizing items that encourage hands-on approaches, which provide sensory seekers opportunities to explore and learn.
We appreciate each and everyone of you for thinking of us, spending resources on us, and sharing in the moments of success.”

RISE Classroom
Funded Aug 1, 2023I cannot express my gratitude for your donations to my classroom. Our students use the weighted items, therapy putty daily and love eating the gold fish. I need to buy more goldfish soon, we are almost out.
The students have been requesting the items during our group time; Circle, Reading, Math, and Choice time to support their learning and sensory needs.
I have one student in particular that has "putty time" built into his schedule. He has been be creating characters as well as using the putty to regulate. His behavior has improved since he has found his love of putty.
The weighted items have been a hit as well. Also, the writing program on the iPad. Students are coming to group times and requesting items using their AAC devices; this is huge for both communications and self-help.
I look forward to continuing the progress of each student while incorporating the items in which you donated. Thank you again.”

Mrs. Mueller

Funded Aug 11, 2020There was so much excitement when we opened our boxes of goodies. The students were so happy to see all the gadgets and gizmos! Our ABA classroom thrives on preference assessments and type A reinforcers. We had so many type A reinforcers within the boxes.
Each day after we finish our reading curriculum, the students get to play with Play-Doh or Kinetic Sand; both of which make the students excited and alleviate the stresses that classroom work/activities can cause. We have even used our Play-Doh to incorporate social stories for bathroom routines (we built a bathroom) to support students in becoming bathroom independent and not afraid to flush a toilet.
Having multiple type A reinforcers within our classroom allows the staff to support behaviors and student success.
We will continue to do our preference assessments and will continue to support our students emotions through regulation (body socks, chair bands, Play-Doh, water/bubble timers, etc.).
Thank you for all your support and dedication to the Amazing World of ABA!”

Funded Sep 8, 2019Room C106 cannot explain fully how much the alternative seating has proved to be beneficial to our room. The students love grabbing a comfy chair, beanbag, cushion and get to work. The library and "Oh, DEAR" have been successful as well as the students enjoy grabbing a beanbag and joining me at the Smartboard for Phonics, Math, and Writing.
As a sensory friendly classroom, the students are able to do what their bodies need to focus, stay focused, and work in a successful constructive way. It is amazing what a comfy seat can do for a students success.
Thank you from the bottom of our Hearts!”

Mrs. Mueller
