If You Give a Kid a Mouse
Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity! My students are thriving with their new computer mice. Using the touch pad on a Chromebook instead of a mouse is tedious. The computer mice have made it much easier to maneuver through certain programs that we use and to answer questions that require clicking and dragging something on the screen.
A few of my special education students have really benefitted from the mice. It has cut down on frustration because of their learning disabilities and made completing their class work more manageable.”

If You Give a Mouse Some Earbuds
Funded Dec 7, 2019Thank you for your generosity in helping to fund my project. With the earbuds and wireless mice, my students have been able to get so much more out of using their Chromebooks as educational tools!
The earbuds has helped to make learning programs more personal for the kids. They can listen to the directions and tips, and become more involved with the activity. We also use a reading site called Epic, which offers a wide variety of audiobooks and read along books. The students LOVE being able to listen to these!
The wireless mice has made maneuvering through the different programs so much easier than using the touch pad. Some learning games were almost impossible to do without a mouse, and now every student can use them!
Thank you again for your generosity.”

Mrs. Hudson

Funded Sep 2, 2019Thank you for your generosity in funding my project! Because of you, my students have been exposed to new genres and had the opportunity to read new books that are not being held together by scotch tape.
In class, I have begun using Number the Stars with my on level reading group and will be starting The Giver with my above level reading group as soon as we are finished with our current book. I plan on using Tuck Everlasting with this group later in the year.
In guided reading, we read each chapter and use reciprocal teaching to dive into the content. This includes having a predictor, questioner, clarifier, visualizer, and summarizer. We also track information on conflict/resolution, character development, and figurative language on chart paper as we read. Finally, we answer comprehension questions. It is a lot of work, but the kids love having conversations about the books.
Thank you again for your contribution!”

Mrs. Hudson
