Classroom Gatherings on a Warm and Inviting Rug!
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you for donating to our classroom. We enjoy using our new rug each day. Each student has a comfortable place to sit during all of our classroom activities. The students enjoy sitting together and completing their work on our new apple classroom rug. We have used our seating spots when sharing with a partner during reading when we turn and talk. We also sit together for math activities with a partner when learning new strategies. During science, we come to together to discuss new concepts and talk with our partners to share ideas! This rug has helped us to stay focused and in our own spots so that learning can happen for all of us!
Thank you from room 212!”

Funded Sep 9, 2021Thank you so much for the amazing contribution to our classroom. We have enjoyed working with the literacy, science and math materials during our center time. The children enjoy working with hands on material while interacting with each other during center time.
We have been able explore and work with multiple resources that meet the need of the students in our classroom. These hands on activities allow all students to be active participants and take part in the learning process. We also enjoy sharing our amazing work with other classrooms when we display our work products for others to see.
We truly appreciate the support and generous contributions to our classroom and will continue to utilize all of the materials throughout the school year!”

Hands on Materials for Interactive Learning
Funded Jul 12, 2021My grade one classroom was very excited to receive the hands on materials this school year. The students could not wait to open the materials up and start working. Since we cut and glue often, we have been able to utilize all of our new resources. We also enjoy keeping our materials safe and organized in our work bags.
We have also been able to utilize our hands on materials for our open house All About Me projects. Parents were very pleased to see the students being able to work with new materials and complete projects that they enjoyed.
We truly appreciate your support and kindness by donating to our classroom community. Thank you so much from all of us in room 226!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Clorox.Organization With Personal Bags
Funded Dec 31, 2020During remote learning, I utilized these work bags to send materials home for each student. Once home, we continued to use these work bags as a way for the students to keep their materials and work organized. The children enjoyed the bags and loved bringing them back periodically so that we could refill them with more work and materials. Now that we are hybrid, the students travel with these bags and use them both at home and in the classroom. The students have learned how to stay organized using these work bags!
I appreciate your support and donations during this difficult time and our Grade 1 classroom appreciates you!”

Remote Learning Technology
Funded Dec 27, 2020Thank you again for the amazing technology! I was able to see my entire class at all times while sharing my screen due to the larger monitor that I added to my laptop. I was also able to control my screens easily with the wireless key board and mouse. With all of the technology needed for remote teaching, these devices made the job much quicker and accessible. I continue to use these devices with the students being hybrid as well. The students in the classroom can see the students at home easily and enjoy sharing screen.
Thank you again for your generous donations and support during this new way of teaching! Grade 1 appreciates you!”

Increasing Phonics and Phonemic Awareness Skills with Hands-on Activities
Funded Jun 17, 2020These phonics tools allowed my students to continue working with phonics activities during our guided practice time. During zoom, I was able to share my screen and use my Elmo to project the tools that they students needed to see to complete the activities. Our classroom works daily using Fundations to teach and practice our phonics and phonemic awareness skills. With these additional tools, my students were able to continue their phonics instruction during our guided practice time that occurs before guided reading. Even in a virtual platform, my students were able to take advantage of these amazing resources. Being able to consistently reinforce these skills is an essential part of everyday instruction, especially during our zoom meetings. My students continue to progress through the required reading levels necessary for first grade and with these resources, this goal is attainable.
The wide range of phonics resources that I received, allow my students to choose from a variety of activities that will allow them to work at their own level. Differentiating material is a critical part of teaching and these resources all me to do just that. My students and I are so grateful and excited to continue to use these amazing resources virtually and hopefully hands on during this school year.”
