This semester we'll be learning about a girl named Addie who contracted several deadly antibiotic-resistant bacterias and almost died. We'll be modeling the process by growing our own bacteria from places around the school, and then we'll see if certain types of antibiotics can kill that bacteria. Understanding how bacteria and antibiotics interact is very important, and the students will be able to make personal connections as they either have taken antibiotics personally or know someone who has. As antibiotic resistance is becoming a larger issue in our world it's important for them to understand the inner workings. Thank you!
