5th Grade Math and Science
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support. Your contributions have made a tremendous difference in our classroom.
When the materials arrived, our students were excited. The bouncy bands are a classroom favorite—students now have a productive outlet for their energy, which helps them focus during lessons. The fidget toys have been a game-changer, especially for my more active learners, giving them something to keep their hands busy while their minds stay engaged.
The mechanical sharpeners and pencils have made our daily math, science and writing tasks much smoother—no more interruptions for dull pencils! The dry-erase markers and laminating paper have been essential for creating reusable learning tools, and the behavior reinforcers have motivated students to meet their goals with enthusiasm.
We've even incorporated the games into our Clubs on Fridays, turning learning into a fun, interactive experience. These materials have brought joy, focus, and structure into our classroom, and I've seen a noticeable boost in student engagement and confidence.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping my students thrive. Your generosity is truly appreciated!”

Funded Oct 11, 2023Thank you so much for allowing me to purchase the printer for the classroom. The last few months of 2023 were very hectic for our class. We had many occasions where we needed to print on demand documents and paperwork for the class.
With our new printer we were able to print the paperwork in real time. This made it possible to provide the class with whatever they needed without having to wait. Being able to print inside the classroom allowed us to provide our students with the necessary paperwork that is often a requirement in school.
We are very grateful to you for allowing us to purchase a printer for our students.”

Funded Mar 7, 2023Our students really appreciated the supplies we were able to get with your donations. Pencils, erasers, sharpeners don't sound like much but when teachers don't have to stress about all students having supplies at their fingertips it makes it so much easier to concentrate on the lessons we have to teach during our Math block.
The social emotional cards and notebooks were a big hit. Students, no matter what age love to get something from their teachers. Inspiring quotes go a long way in helping the classroom remain a calm and dedicated space to learning.
Thank you so much for your support last year. Our students worked very hard and your donations have made a world of difference.”

Rolling White Board for Modeling Thinking
Funded Oct 2, 2021The White Board has been a wonderful tool in our classroom. We have used it not only to model during lessons for both teachers and students but write down notes, give instructions to the class and at times to just allow students to have some fun!
The classroom norm is always to look at the white board for instructions or to write down a quick note. Students love to come up to the board to show their work especially when we are modeling mathematics. This board is always in full view of the class thanks to the wheels that allow us to move it around the room. When not in use, it is easily placed in an unobtrusive area and is always ready to be rolled out when necessary. The board has helped the class visualize and understand tasks, keep track of what they are working on or give reminders to individual students or groups of the expectations during the day or week.
Our classroom runs smoothly thanks to our rolling white board. We would not have been able to accomplish all that we have done so far without the support of our donors!”

End of Year Celebration for 5th Grade - Middle School
Funded May 31, 2021What a wonderful day my students had when they walked into their classroom and it was bathed in blacklight and neon decorations. They were thrilled to participate in a glow day celebration for the end of the year before they went off to middle school. Students worked in groups of 4-5 to rotate around the room to 6 different stations. They played Jenga, Tic Tac Glow, Bowling, Corn hole, Connect Four and Pong Ball. Students spent time at each station with their classmates and played the games while solving Math related problems at each station.
Students used highlights and wrote on each other and neon bracelets to add to their fun. A great time was had by all the student.
Thank you so much for supporting us and allowing the students to participate in a glow in the dark event and to enjoy each others company one last time before they head to middle school!”

Social Emotional Support
Funded Mar 22, 2021My students are happy and excited to be back in the classroom. We have had many discussion on norms and on how to interact with each other. We have focused on kindness and acceptance and although this has been a challenging year we are starting to be in a space with each other that feels familiar.
The students have been practicing kindness towards fellow classmates and adults in the room. We were able to give out stickers and erasers and small notebooks to write down compliments and kind thoughts.
This would not have been possible without the support of our wonderful donors.”

Document Camera and White Board Access for Modeling Mathematics
Funded Nov 2, 2020Thank you so much for allowing me to purchase a document camera and white board access for my 5th grades classes. This year during Covid my classes are hybrid and fully remote. Two classes come in part of the week alternating and the other class is fully remote.
The white board that I placed inside my classroom allowed me to write on the board in a large space. Modeling mathematics is difficult especially when the students are just watching slides on my computer or smartboard. It is important for students to watch the teacher complete the equation or watch the steps to solve a problem. The large white board film attached to the old blackboard creates a perfect place for students to watch as we solve math problems. For those students in person, they also like to come up and write on the board. The students get to show off their strategy to the class that doesn't happen when they are writing in their notebooks.
Students who are remote also have benefited as I turned the camera around and asked them to watch me step by step complete a Math problem. We always have issues of where to place the camera so everyone can see, but the students have gotten better at directing me.
The document camera works very well during remote and inperson classes. Inside the class students watch the smartboard and remotely it makes a huge difference. I was using a small whiteboard and then I would hold it up to computer camera as I wrote backwards, which often didn't work out well. Using the camera to show the students is much more efficient and students can easily see and follow along during class time and small group instruction.”
