Thank you for the resources for my remote students! They are using their new materials to create Emotion Monsters to help them manage their emotions, fall trees to explore their community, and so many more activities that involve fine motor development and art appreciation. You have truly made a difference in these children's lives.
My students were so excited to receive the supplies! When my student, M., received the bag, he couldn't resist sporting a huge smile under his mask, running up to me, giving me a hug, and saying, "Thank you, Ms. Cairo! Now I can paint and draw and learn numbers!"
My students next steps are to start the All about me unit in which they will learn about themselves, what makes them unique and special, and how to treat everyone with respect. With our new materials we will be making Self-portraits, Diversity collages, and so much more.”

Transitioning from going to school daily to being at home all the time has been an abrupt change for my children. Many of my students' parents have reached out to me, explaining they cannot draw a picture of a way that they care about each other because they do not have the means to do this at home. Crayons, markers, and paper are basic art supplies that will allow my students to continue to engage with their work. This will help my families to cope with some of the stress caused by this drastic change and give my students an outlet through which to pour their emotions.
