  • Fuel Our Bodies, Fuel Our Minds

    Funded Oct 29, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity. It truly means so much to know that people support my students and I. My students are pretty amazing kids that despite many challenges are persevering and showing amazing academic and social growth this year.

The snacks may not seem much to some people. But I overheard a student the other day telling another student that "Mrs. Scholten really cares about us because she always make sure we have what we need like snacks and gloves" It warmed my heart to hear how the little things do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for helping to make my classroom a place where all students feel cared for.”

    With gratitude,

  • Warm Hands, Full Bellies!

    Funded Jan 10, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity. I am always so humbled by the support of donors like you.

The stretchy gloves were a hit for my students to use during th cold Michigan winters. It is always helpful to have a bin of gloves that students can use if they forgot or don't have any.

Also the extra snacks are always so helpful. If someone is hungry or forgot a snack they know I have some on hand for them. It allows me to meet the needs of my students so they can focus on learning.

Again thank you for your continued support, you make it possible for me to support all my students and help them be successful.”

  • Full Bellies Ready to Learn!

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity and care for my students! My kids are amazing young people. They face so much adversity in their lives. It is always my goal to make sure that when they come to school they can feel loved, have their needs met, and are safe.

One way I try to do this is by having some healthy snack options available for kids for snack time or if they just need a little extra food that day. Your donations make this possible for me to do. It may seem like something small, but I know my kids truly appreciate it and don't ever have to feel like they are missing out or embarrassed that they don't have something to eat at snack time.

When their basic needs are met students can focus on the big task of learning! Thank you for your support!”

Thank you so much for your donations, thanks to you all of my students had the supplies they needed to start the school year. We received pencils, crayons and scissors. So having extra on hand so they didn't feel left out and had what they needed made them feel excited about starting school.

Donors like you make all the difference your donations encourage me to keep working hard despite challenges to make sure that ALL students have a positive school experience and are able to be successful!

  • Read It! Build It! 2

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your support. Getting projects funded always inspire me to keep teaching and doing what I know is right for my students. We have started a new phonics program in our building called UFLI, which is created by the University of Florida, the staff and students are loving how easy it is to use, how much the students are learning, and that is is actually fun to do.

As part of this program students build words with magnetic letter tiles. The supplies from this project were used to create these magnet boards for 1st and 2nd grade classes. The kid really enjoy the hands on approach and we couldn't have done it without donors like you! Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of students.”

  • I Can Read It!

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to the "I Can Read It" project in my classroom. The books have been a great addition to our class. These decodable books focus on skills we have learned in our reading lesson and gives students a chance to practice the phonics skill in context.

After students learn a skill these books are put into a book bag that they can read during independent reading time. The kids loved that these books are books that they can be successful with. I have heard kids saying, "Look, Mrs. Scholten, I just read all of these books!

Thank you for giving me the tools to inspire my students to read and see themselves as a reader!”
