I think it's important to create spaces and routines for young learners that allow them to be the bouncy, curious, engaged students they are. I have done a great job with that so far around my classroom, however, we have struggled with our time at the "family meetings" on the floor space in the front of the room. This carpet will create organized space that allows the students to physically see the boundary they are to stay in and will allow them to self-regulate in the learning area. I am looking forward to spending less time on redirecting and more time teaching!
