My students enjoy learning, and I want to be prepared to serve them well so that they can exercise independence by choosing new activities to challenge them beyond those I have provided. Since I am a new teacher at my school, which is Title I, I don't have many supplies that you might find in the classroom of a teacher who has spent a longer time at the school. I would like the students to be able to access their laptops, center materials, and additional paperwork without having to wait on me to ready it every time it's needed. I strive to teach my students how important it is that they keep their paperwork organized, now that they are in second grade and have more responsibility than in previous years. In order to do that though, I need additional help. The filing system will help them store papers from their Zoom classroom, resource classrooms, and special projects easily to access before they go home, and the center cart and laptop trays will also help them find additional activities to complete after they've finished their work. It will also help me focus on what's truly important: instructional time and small group learning.
