All students, not just our English Language Learners, will be able to broaden their ideas about diversity and what other cultures have to offer. The texts will allow students to gain perspectives from other religions, races, cultures, and backgrounds. These texts will help me celebrate diversity in our classroom. I plan to create assignments centered around diversity by using these multicultural texts which will lead into our school celebration on May 21st--World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. All elementary students will create a diversity project that they will share.
