The yoga mats obtained through this project will me to provide over 100 4th and 5th graders to opportunity to learn about and practice yoga during their Physical Education class three days a week. My goal through yoga is to help my students learn how they can reduce their stress and anxiety while helping them to improve their state of mind and better physical health. Many of my students who come from low-income families, come to school with worries, anxiety and frustrations daily that not only affect their learning, but unfortunately result in behavioral issues inside and outside of the classroom.

About my class
