  • Brain Fuel - Help Students Power Up to Stay Focused!

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous contribution! Because of your donation, the students gain the brain power needed to be successful as they learn in the classroom.

When the students first saw all the healthy snacks for them, they were in awe!

Having a snack when they are hungry and taking a break to refuel is something they look forward to because it allows them to preserve and engage in a day's worth of learning. A small snack of brain food does wonders for their learning. The students know a snack bin is waiting for them whenever they need it! This is something they will never have to worry about.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gizunterman

  • Teaching Social Justice with Class Reading

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation. Thanks to you, the students get a chance to dive deep into literature and learn about diverse experiences children their age face.

We are using the Front Desk to teach the social justice theme of identity. Every student gets to have their own book to practice strategies like jotting notes. This also allows the students to make their own personal connections.

Our school strives to teach our students independence, perseverance, and identity, so they can use these strengths moving forward.”

  • Writing Tools for Our Future Authors!

    Funded Aug 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation. thanks to you, I was able to purchase writing tools for the whole year for my students and of course, our future authors. I was able to get my students folders, notebooks, journals, pencils, post-its, labels, and so much more to make sure they have everything they need to become successful writers. We will use these tools and resources all year long with many reading and writing lessons and projects.

The students are so grateful to have all these writing tools and support to make them successful. Most students come from low socio-economic homes, where they would not be able to get the tools to make them successful. They look forward to using their writing tools every day.

Moving forward, I will continue to use all the writing tools for future student projects and do my best to make writing more engaging for my future writers.”

  • Bins, Bins, & More Bins - Help Build a Library!

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

First off, I would like to say thank you so much for your donation. Thanks to you, I was able to make a brand new organized library for the students to use every single day. every week, the kids get to go book shopping in the library and find books of all kinds. looking for books is easy for them because everything is well organized.

When the students saw the library they were so excited! the library is their favorite part of the room. They look forward to getting a book and reading.

Some next steps for my students are getting more books for them to use. another idea I have is to leave book reviews for the next student possibly interested in a book.

once again, thank you so much for your contribution.”

  • Brain Fuel - Help Students Power Up to Stay Focused!

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

I would like to start by saying thank you so much for your fantastic contribution to my classroom. Your donation has been a massive part of our everyday life in the classroom. Because of you, the students get to have snacks and refuel to continue working hard throughout their very busy schedules. Taking a moment and having a snack re-energizes the students! It also gives them a moment to take a break and talk to one another in the class. We make sure that we have snacks every day, no matter what changes.

When the students received all of the different snacks, such as granola bars, Cheez-Its, veggie sticks, fruit snacks, cereals, etc., they were amazed and extremely excited! Snack time is the time of the day every person looks forward to!

Currently, the students are working on writing beautiful argumentative essays about whether or not schools should serve chocolate milk in schools. This activity has made them more aware of what foods they put in their body! And want to make sure that the snacks they eat are healthy for them.

Because of YOU, every day, the students get to put healthy and nutritious snacks into their bodies to fuel themselves for the rest of the day ahead! For that, we are incredibly grateful!”

My classroom is full of incredible, intelligent and kind-hearted 5th graders who deserve nothing but the best. The majority of the students enrolled come from low-income households. Our school is a low-poverty school but a wonderful environment for learning. Because of this, getting the necessary supplies to help their growth and development is most important to me. I was hoping you could help me, help my students get the best education possible.
