My AWESOME students have disabilities that make traditional learning a little more difficult than what their peers experience, but with much needed, appropriate resources, supplies, and technology they can be SUPER successful! My job as an exceptional needs instructor is to find creative ways to help unlock my students' learning potential! My students work best with hands on tasks, visual learning strategies that often include colorful items, various organizational materials, and earbuds for those who benefit from assistive technology in class. These supplies will lend in the support & development of EXTRAORDINARY learning feats by providing for a CONDUCIVE classroom rich in resources for learning! Writing is focused on a great deal in our school! My students will use the notebooks with dividers to organize the notes of their writing, their drafts, and their articles. The interactive notebooks are just that, interactive! Students will use color in the notebooks for annotating and visual draw, gluing resources in the notebooks. They will use earbuds to listen to many of the articles and texts being read to them or listening to an interactive lesson. Students will use chart paper and dry erase boards to put up notes and examples of different writing strategies and examples of their writing. Writing centers and group rotations will use post it notes for gallery walks and notes in their binders that will be provided. Students will use folders to collect and organize student work, presentations, and data collection.
