A Creative Outlet: iPads for New Art Opportunities
Funded May 20, 2023With the 3 brand new iPads in my art room, I am finally able to give my students access to so many art apps and platforms than ever before!
Our first project, students used the Canva app to create their own imaginative "music festival" posters! They tried out templates and learned about all of the different features on that app as well as how to navigate different designs and templates.
This is certainly the first of many technological opportunities! This has been such an amazing assett to my classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Supporter and 9 other donors. It's a Colorful Life!
Funded Mar 10, 2020Thank you so much for your donations! Now my students can create colorful stained glass mini windows and create crystals on the canvas. These are surface materials they have never used before in art so it will be exciting and beneficial for them to be able to do artwork in a unique and different way.”

Creativity Flows Through Flexibility!
Funded Nov 24, 2019With all of the new seating/standing options I have a designated area in the classroom where students can access most tools to help them become more flexible where they are sitting. In this area I have the foot pedals and the easels. The foot pedals have become a great tool in my classroom because it's for those students that like the comfort of a regular chair, but can still let out some energy while they are sitting. The easels also help some students that need a specific kind of surface or angle to produce their artwork.
The bendy bands are placed on regular seats which again, also helps students that like the comfort of a regular chair, but still needs to let out some energy with their legs and feet. The balance board is placed directly under the high top table. That has been a class favorite! It's been great for students that normally like standing and walking around a lot. It has helped students to remain in motion while standing and still able to produce their artwork.
My students were really excited to try out these new tools that they don't often see in an art room, let alone a classroom. The next steps will be to hopefully expand even more flexible seating/working areas for my students. In a 21st century classroom, it's been great so far. My students are more engaged because they have that knowing that they can choose where to sit (or stand if need be) and still manage to get work done in a comfortable and flexible way.”
