Learning With Your Fingers
Funded Oct 5, 2021When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was so happy because this meant that my kiddos were going to have materials to learn with their fingers. I was excited to get the seat sacks because my students do not have desk to put things inside. I was excited for the play-doh because the students needed to work on spelling and I wanted them to do this through the use of sensory learning. I was also excited to get the dot markers because I wanted them to use it for spelling and sight words activities. When my students saw the items inside the boxes, they were so excited because they know this meant that their learning was going to change. As you can see, they enjoyed learning with the materials. The students will of course continue to ask for those materials because they love learning through their fingers! Thank you so much for this experience and support in my students' learning.”

Summertastic Learning Off the Web
Funded Jun 1, 2020I can not thank you all enough for supporting my students with monetary funds to support their academic growth. In each kit, the kids received reading books, workbooks, games, certificates, and colored clay. The reading books were essential to the students because sometimes parents do not know which books match their child's reading level, and so by supplying the students with books on their reading levels, they can practice the reading skills. With the workbooks, I ordered math workbooks that are on their appropriate independent level. Even though my students are on a first, second, and third-grade level, they do not function on those levels due to their diverse academic needs. With the math workbooks, my kiddos were able to practice their skills to better their foundational skills. With the ELA workbooks, I ordered the activities based on the student's reading levels, and so they were able to practice sight words and creating sentences. With the games and colored clay, they made awesome things with their families to increase family time. Family time is an opportunity that we as adults take for granted, so I want to increase the time they spend with their families. The packing materials enabled me to put all of the materials in one place. Overall, I gave each student certificates to celebrate the growth they have accomplished throughout the year and the year's quarantine parts.”
