Our district has invested a great amount of money to train the teachers in how to better use technology in the classroom. I have only 4 iPads for a class full of 26 students. These devices will help them grow in literacy as well as math fluency. They will be able to do more hands on STEAM projects as well. The world we live in is a world ruled by technology. My students deserve the right to learn in this ever-changing world. If we can teach them how to better use technology while they are young there is no limit to what they can achieve. We will use these iPads to work on programs such as Lexia for literacy growth as well as Extra math to achieve fluency in our math facts. Both os these apps will help my students reach crucial 2nd grade standards- fluency in addition & subtraction with numbers 1-20 as well as reaching their one year growth in reading for the year.
