Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation! With your support, I have access to wonderful teacher-made materials on the website, Teacherspayteachers.com! I can easily print, laminate, assemble and store these materials for future use and to ensure they are sturdy for my students!

Our year is off to a great start and we are working hard on our speech and language goals! Thank you!!”

  • Speech Materials!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

My students and I would like to express sincere gratitude for your contribution to my project: Speech Materials! We were able to add books to our classroom library which targets speech and language development. We also have been working on our problem solving, inferencing, sequencing, and narrative retell skills using our language cards. The pictures on the cards are realistic, engaging, and fun! All of the classroom supplies help with organization and with keeping materials sturdy and ready for learning.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Back to Speech Therapy!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

I am so appreciative of your support! Speech and Language Therapy is off to an awesome start thanks to your generosity! To start, students are organized as they have access to materials in an orderly manner within the therapy room. (I have also been able to stay more organized with my 3 - ring binder and document storage.) My students are enjoying interacting with therapy materials, including the deck of inferencing cards. Inferencing is a challenging skill for many students and this deck has helped teach this skill. Looking forward to continuing this momentum!”

  • Temperature Check, Please! Back to School Safety

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to PS2. Staff and students are doing their part to remain safe at school. We maintain distance and emphasize the importance of hand washing. With these non-contact thermometers, we are able to take an additional measure of safety.

We will continue to use these in our classrooms for years to come for safety precautions and for when students are feeling sick. We can easily take their temperature prior to sending them to the school nurse.

From all of us at PS2, thank you again for your contributions and support!”

  • A Diverse Library for Diverse Learners

    Funded Sep 4, 2020

Thank you very much for your contribution to my Diversity Library. I have received all of my requested books and displayed them in the classroom. I added a quote, "in this class, we share our similarities and celebrate our differences." This quote is the foundation for what I aim to teach with these books.

Students have already recognized the library and have been invited to choose a book from it. I love the messages we can take away from these books, such as awareness and acceptance.

My students and I are very lucky to be able to read and appreciate these books.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Taylor

  • Color Our Speech Room!

    Funded Sep 6, 2019

Thank you SO much for your generosity! My classroom is more colorful and filled with useful resources for students to grow their speech and language!

Many of my students are visual learners, and benefit from the ability from access to printed resources and materials.

Students have thoroughly enjoyed using colored pictures to support their comprehension of story events. Additionally, many of our strategies are now printed in color! It has been wonderful to see the impact of your donations.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Taylor

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I support students by providing strategies and tools to access the curriculum. It would be beneficial for students to receive individualized and consistent color visuals to enhance their learning. If laminated, the visuals could be easily referenced and transferred to their classrooms to provide generalization into the classroom. Therapy sessions target a wide array of speech and language goals: articulation, fluency (stuttering) , expressive language, receptive language (reading and listening comprehension), auditory processing and non-verbal communication, pragmatics (social skills), syntax, vocabulary, and executive functioning skills (memory, organization, problem solving, etc.) Many of my students are visual learners. I would use the colored printer to create schedules to facilitate transitions. I would also use the colored printer to print out color-coded graphic organizers, as well as literacy-related images to support comprehension of texts and ideas. The school environment is a place for children to develop and maintain a love of learning. Colorful pictures and sturdy visuals would not only be used in my therapy sessions as attractive materials, but they would enhance learning of new strategies and skills, such as vocabulary words.
