First Year Teacher: Bringing Passion into Her Classroom

Thank you so much for helping me to fund my first Donor's choose project! This is my first year in my own classroom and thanks to you, I have had a successful transition into this process.

One of the things that you helped to fund was a bean-less bag chair. I have put it into my "calming corner." This is a place in my classroom where students may go when they are feeling frustrated or upset. It's a safe place for them to calm down and take a minute to breathe. They have loved using this chair. It's pretty big so it wraps them up and they absolutely love that. Also in this calming corner, I have laminated and posted strategies for them to use to help calm them down. The laminating pouches are ANOTHER thing you helped to fund which I have found to be so useful as things sometimes have potential to be destroyed. However, the lamination makes it SO much more durable which really saves me time and effort since I make a lot of these resources by myself.
