Chromebook Preparedness
Funded Aug 8, 2020Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. We have received one Chromebook and the rest are on the way. Having technology at our fingertips is helping to prepare students for learning at home.
During this unusual time of COVID 19 most children were at home trying to navigate lessons sent from school. With the help of this technology, I am able to show students how to use the programs that are sent home for virtual learning. Students are able to locate materials and better understand the entire virtual process.
If we are forced to continue remote teaching with students at home, now they better understand how to log in and locate lessons, quizzes, and zoom links. My students and I are extremely grateful for your donation to improving our online skills.”

"BEE"come Engineers and Mathematicians
Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you so much for our Beebots and Charging Station. Students are learning how to complete simple programming codes with these robots. Students log in the path for the robot to take and press go to send it on its way.
In the photos attached, students are learning to use coding techniques, and also matching common to proper nouns. We are using them for reading vocabulary practice, sound and letter combinations, grammar reinforcement, and just for fun.
I was able to make a path with butcher paper and cut a plastic cover. Then, all we do is set up the cards and program away. Students look forward to using Beebots every day. They love creating programs and watching the Beebots turn, back up and go forward.
Thank you for donating to our classroom. Your donation allows our children access to materials that we are unable to afford otherwise and we are all extremely grateful.”

Funded Oct 21, 2019Thank you so very much for our new books and individual book boxes. Students now have an increased exposure to printed literature that will increase vocabulary, comprehension skills, and fluency.
When the books arrived, the kids were so excited to read them. We sat as a group and looked at all the books for interest levels. Kids made a list on index cards of the books they wanted to read first. Then, children were able to select the books they wanted to read.
During reading, each child got a new book to put in their box. Several children told me how excited they were and they can't wait to read all of them. As you know, with excited comes great learning.
Thank you for donating to our classroom. I look forward to sharing these books with children for many years.”

Funded Aug 27, 2019Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. Students enjoyed playing in small groups together with the balls, scoops, and velcro sets. Students swapped partners and were able to play with several different students. Many children played kick and catch with the balls today outside. They especially loved the rainbow ball!
Even though it was 96 degrees here in Alabama today, they had a great time outside playing with all of the equipment. We look forward to many hours of fun outside playing together.
Thank you again for your donation and we sincerely appreciate your generosity.”
