I use a thermometer daily in the clinic, but sometimes the oral thermometer scares little children. Also, it is difficult for some of my special needs children to stay still long enough to get an axillary temperature reading. After doing some research, it has been found that a temporal thermometer, which takes a forehead reading, is as accurate as an oral/axillary thermometer, in most cases, while causing less stress for the student. It is my goal to keep student visits to the clinic as stress free as possible! Also, plastic bags are always needed for students in the clinic. We use them for ice packs and to send home soiled clothes, among other things. Any help you provide will be greatly appreciated!
