Economics with Financial Literacy involves studying different types of economies around the world and their positive and negative aspects. I like to use Google Tours and Google Earth to give students an idea of what places in different parts of the world look like. At the end of the unit, students pick one country and delve into that nations economy. The students use Google Tours to present their research to the rest of the class. The rest of the class takes guided notes so that once everyone has presented the whole class has a good idea of how various economies around the world affect the day to day lives of the people living there. There is a specific focus in the rubric on tying in the type of economy, specifics about that nation, and how the economy affects the lives of the people living in that particular country. A couple of white boards would allow the students to give their presentations in a much more professional setting. Having a pair of boards will allow students to present on one board and write on the other. When the boards are not being used by the students for presentations, I will be able to use them for the same purposes!
