The folders are used as a way to keep the students work and goals private in a file cabinet. With as many students as I have, I would like to use these folders for their private documentation and checklists. I use this as another way for the students to track their learning. I want to provide a way for the students to use the room to their advantage by using the clipboards to take charge of their learning. I want them to feel comfortable to grab a clipboard and go work on their work on the floor by the front door, in a chair next to the lockers, or on the counter where they can have a little more privacy. I use the clipboards for centers, especially when they have to walk around the room to look at problems on the wall; but also as a way to give the students a chance to take charge with their learning. The pencils, markers, glues, pens, and paper will be used for everyday activities. These are the items that students tend to go through so fast and the classroom seems to never have enough of. They are necessities and are used so much on a daily basis. The buzzers are used for when we play review games as a whole group. This gets the students involved int heir learning in a way that is different from just shouting out their answers. I love these buzzers because the students get so excited when they see them out as they walk into the classroom. I use the bingo chips for games as well as manipulative counters for those students who need a tangible way of solving a problem.
