  • Stop! Spread a Healthy & Sweet Treat

    Funded Mar 15, 2024

My students and I want to thank you for the donation. They were excited to receive the healthy and delicious snacks. As educators, our goal is to ensure our students are given the necessary resources for an excellent school year. To make sure this occurs, it is necessary to provide them, when needed, a healthy meal or snack. Many students struggle to focus when they are hungry, so providing them with a snack can help them diminish that hunger.

It was exciting to see their smiley faces when they received the popcorn and fruit snacks. They want me to forward this message, "Thank you, we are happy with the snacks. Our favorite was the popcorn and the berry juicy fruit burst. They are yummy."

We are grateful for donors like you for supporting our scholars. Once again, thank you and we sincerely appreciate you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garza

  • Fun Learning Lounge

    Funded Aug 29, 2019

First, I will like to thank you for your donations. My students and I are extremely grateful for this act of kindness. Prior to receiving the supplies, I had informed my students we were going to receive many amazing gifts from a group of people who wanted them to have a great year of success in their learning. My students were enthusiastic and anxious to receive the materials.

Upon receiving the donations, my heart was full of joy to see how excited my students were to start using the materials. After introducing my students to the materials and how they were to care for them and use them for their learning they immediately started to explore the manipulatives.

These past months, my students have utilized the materials with their writing. They have been able to recall words they have used from the donated manipulatives to new texts they have read in class. The students have enjoyed the flexible seating chairs as well. Normally, students have to sit in regular chairs and having the flexibility to use comfortable seating has helped them feel comfortable in the classroom. Our seating pillows have been used during the read-to-someone station. The students enjoy sitting on the pillows while they read to their partner. I have noticed my students enjoy reading more as they look forward to the flexibility of the pillows. We will soon be utilizing our math manipulatives, so the students have already expressed their excitement about this.

My class and I are grateful for the donations and support you have provided us and we would like to thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garza

It is important to provide my students with a learning environment that will support their needs. I want to keep them engaged and motivated during their time in school. Providing them with alternative seating options will allow them to do so. Students learn differently and their environment plays a vital role in their learning. My purpose for the flexible seating is to provide my students with a comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning. As a first-year teacher, I want my students to have access to fun and educational tools that will help support their learning. For this year, I am focusing on reading and mathematics. The majority of my students are unable to read. I want to provide my students with reading tools that will permit them to create words and ultimately develop a final product, sentences. My students are beginning to learn the basic mathematical concepts of counting, adding, and subtracting. It is crucial to integrate in a mathematical lesson tools that will help them develop and further expand those basic skills. Students are able to retain new acquired knowledge through the use of manipulatives. The requested resources will help my kinder students use hands-on tools to develop and master those reading and mathematical concepts.
