As stated previously, we meet in our meeting area throughout the day. Some of our tasks in the meeting area involve morning routines, attendance, mini-lessons for every subject, opportunities for children to work in a small group, learning via smartboard and sharing aloud our work for other students to learn. However, towards the end of our school year, our teacher chair which is used all day long broke and was dangerous to sit on. We also allow students who are sharing their work to sit on this chair to feel like they are the star of the show and take ownership in their work. Our class was devastated when they learned it was unsafe to sit in the “Authors chair.”
