  • Let Literature Teach Lessons!

    Funded Mar 4, 2020

Thank you SO MUCH for funding my class project. This means more to me and my class than words can possibly describe. Different types of literature can reach students more than a simple teacher given lesson can. It allows students to find connections in other ways and to self teach. They will remember some of these books for the rest of their lives. Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kennedy

  • Can Students LEARN if They Can’t Even HEAR?

    Funded Dec 26, 2019

These headphones have made a world of difference in my classroom. We are required to assign our students to multiple online intervention programs. These programs take them through math, language arts, etc. The headphones we received are so fragile, they have almost all broken in the span of three months. These headphones have allowed them to have consistency in being able to hear their lessons.

The quality of these headphones are amazing! My students love how comfortable these headphones are, and they said it makes them feel cool that they cover their ears (LOL). The headphones we had before the cushions would fall off, so they had hard plastic just sitting on their ears, these have made such a difference. They also love how good of a quality of sound they are, and how it helps them not hear outside sounds which helps them focus.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kennedy

  • Turning Minds With Tablets!

    Funded Nov 1, 2019

These tablets have been an amazing addition to my classroom. We have been able to use these tablets for a variety of things. I have been able to create differentiation on these tablets that I have not been able to do in my classroom library. I have downloaded books that will reach the needs of all of my reading groups and accommodate their reading levels. The children love technology and it excites them to be able to use it- it makes them excited to read!

Not only have they been able to read off of these tablets, they are able to take pictures of their work in stations to hold them accountable while I am not with them. It makes them work harder on their work as well, knowing that there will be a picture of what they've been doing. These have made my classroom very well rounded and I can't wait to find more uses for these!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kennedy

These computers will change the entire environment in my classroom. My kids won't be looking at their broken computers that hardly work anymore, they will feel like they get the same opportunities as the rest of the world. Living in an area where most of these students have hardly seen anything but 28th street, having access to working technology can show them that there is so much more in this world than what/where they've always known. While teaching the ancient civilizations, the students will be able to step foot in Ancient Rome/Greece/Egypt and explore the land through virtual field trips. They will be able to participate in class review games to help them achieve their goals during assessment, practice for the standardized testing, let them practice typing essays during the publishing stage of the writing process, help them develop skills with technology, and SO MUCH MORE!!!
