The rug and furniture items will liven up our classroom setup that is in need of some much needed TLC! The sensory items and materials will be used to help my students stay calm and focused. Some items will also be used for breaks and rewards which are much needed for these students throughout the school day. Children with Autism who engage in sensory activities can benefit in several ways, as it can help with: stimulating the brain, creating neural pathways and improving sensory processing systems. Sensory play also plays a huge role in improving social skills such as communication and cooperation, improving coordination, as well as fine and gross motor skills.
