  • The Magic of Reading

    Funded Apr 3, 2024

We are incredibly grateful for your generous contributions that have sparked a love for reading among our students. Your support has been instrumental in providing resources and opportunities that have encouraged our students to delve into the magical world of books.

The excitement among our students has been palpable, especially with the Harry Potter-themed incentives that motivated them to work hard and earn amazing prizes. This initiative has not only made reading fun but has also inspired a sense of accomplishment and joy in their literary adventures.

As we head into the summer, our students are eager to continue their reading journey, exploring new stories and expanding their imaginations, thanks to the encouragement and support you have provided.

Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. You have truly made a difference in fostering a lifelong love of reading in our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cook

  • Get Your Head in the Game

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Wow! The kids have been so engaged! They have come to school smiling and love to have learning mixed with games. They even took an assessment and used the post it's to play "cheese touch"! They love making a basket in the basketball hoop when they answer a question. This is my fourth year teaching and I have never seen the kids so excited!!

We have used the games to make our learning more exciting. Students have played the class candy crush game as a way to check their answers and get immediate feedback. When I add these games like the chicken fling, ultimate four square, and golden coin students get very excited and ask to play them daily!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cook

  • I Am a Writer!

    Funded Jun 17, 2021

The writing project is in full swing. I have been teaching the students how to write personal narratives. There are other projects we have yet to get to as it is the beginning of the school year. We are planning to write opinion and information essays and we are excited! One of my students loves the choices he has in the resources I was able to purchase through help from donors like you!

One of the resources given to my students is "Step Up to Writing" which simplifies the steps of writing and benefits their growth as a writer. This resource was purchased on teachers pay teachers and not only benefits my students but also the teacher who created the resource. My students love writing with this resource and have written wonderful personal narratives about a time in their life that impacted them. I love the check lists and the interactive notebooks provided in the resources as well they are very helpful to learning writing.

Thank you for the writing resources so students can feel successful!”

  • Reading With Hope

    Funded Dec 23, 2019

My students have been using the resources donated to the classroom to focus our attention on reading! I have had success with the white boards in engaging them to think and answer o that everyone is accountable. The new library and C-pen have been amazing in allowing my students to be excited about reading with the ability to work independently! I am so thrilled they have the hope of progression. Their reading scores have increased and I am so excited for their progress! The students love to sit on their yoga balls and stand on their balance boards. It has really helped them stay focused during lessons. Currently we are studying Black History month and reading the new book received from you wonderful donors to learn about a African American citizen each day that helped make our country what it is today! Thank you so much for your love for learning! We have hope for our abilities of reading in the future because of your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cook

In my class, my students may sit there waiting for me to come read them what was given on the assignment, completely helpless. These fourth graders will truly benefit from independence a c-reader pen could give them. The ability to change the way they learn, and grow their confidence in themselves. The flexible seating for my classroom will help those who have a hard time focusing in class. They have not been able to focus on their work and need to move around and feel the freedom to not be stuck to a desk. Studies show that flexible seating will benefit students focus and interest in the lessons. I am so privileged to be a teacher and appreciate any help I can get! I love these children and want to make the classroom a place where they feel safe and loved. Working at a title one school I have done my best to provide for the children despite my economic hardships and have spent over $1,000 so far to make it so my class has all they need to succeed. Your help is great!
