Handy Dandy Needed School Supplies
Funded Oct 17, 2023Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! The students were more excited about the box of Sharpies than I thought they would! We designed posters for our character project and informational posters to show writing strategies/skills. I really enjoyed seeing them work with tools that didnt leave streaks for a change! I personally use the paper edge cutter to create tools we use while using the writing strategies. Each student has been given a laminated and neatly cut chart to use as a guide for sentence starters in their writing.
Next steps would be to continue using the tools during school projects in our next unit such as labeling the rhyme scheme of poems we will be reading. Students will be learning how to analyze theme by creating one-pager projects as well. I cannot wait to see their illustrated work!”

Funded Dec 19, 2019It is amazing how during this time we are at our greatest need for these materials and I am thankful for the time we were in school with the accessibility to use them. Thank you so much for your donations. I appreciated being able to have clean classrooms and clean hands. When Covid-19 hit, I was teaching lessons to explain what is going on in the world and how to properly use these items. You should have seen the amount of sanitizer they were using. I believe most of them became much more health conscious and aware of their surroundings. I miss my kids terribly and so hope everyone is being safe!”

Funded Sep 3, 2019The magazines donated were used to discover innovative technology as part of our research project this month. Pictures the students are using graphic organizers to note the differences in communication during the Elizabethan Era verses today's society.
Reading in my classroom has been done in productive literature circles. The students read together the text and then have open group discussions about the big concepts. Each student has a different job when analyzing the text. They definitely enjoy hearing each other's ideas and thoughts on their topics especially since the lessons are student-led. All of my students have been enjoying our new magazines! Thank you so much for your support!”
