Flexible seating has been demonstrated by various studies to improve student engagement and learning. Providing students a comfortable, flexible seating arrangement in the classroom library will encourage students to read and provide them a space where they can successfully learn. Bean bag chairs and soft carpets are popular forms of flexible seating in classrooms I have observed, including amongst the reading teachers at my own school. If students feel comfortable and focused, they can excel in their learning. By supporting this project, you will help dozens of low-income students from immigrant backgrounds, including English Language Learners, develop their love for reading and literacy skills. Please consider contributing!
