Spanish Literature and Beyond!

Spanish Literature and Beyond was and idea I wanted to implement in my classroom, the purpose of it was to enrich the Spanish curriculum and thanks to my sponsors, it has become a reality. When we received the books, the kids were super excited! We started reading "El único e incomparable Ivan" as our first literature project. We read an average of 30-50 pages every time we meet. We constantly stop to discuss what is happening in the story and most importantly we share our opinions about the characters. Additionally, the plethora of new vocabulary words we are exposed to has made an impact in the students'oral vocabulary.

By the time we had been reading the book a second week, I notice all the kids were fully engaged in the reading. They wanted to know more about the characters and constantly volunteered to read aloud. We also gathered into small groups and we read throughout the school to make our reading more personal and relaxing.

Overall, seeing the level of engagement, interest and the growth mindset that has occurred with my students these past months has been outstanding. The success my students have experienced with this project would not have occurred, if it were not for your generous donations. I am touched that you chose my project to fund and I am deeply grateful.”
