As the only CS teacher, I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to inspire and support student interest. Teaching children to code at a young age prepares them for the future. Coding is basic literacy in the digital age, and it is very important for children to explore, work with, and understand the technology around them. Coding helps children with communication, creativity, math, writing, and, most of all, building their confidence. I enjoy teaching and learning with the students.
Without headphones, the classroom was noisy and the students are unable to hear the instructions on the tutorials designed for independent practice. Thus, I am requesting nine class sets of headphones, which will provide each student with personal headphones. Not only will this allow the students to focus and work independently, it will address hygiene concerns as they will no longer have to share.
