The novel, Fish in a Tree, will be used in a whole-classroom novel study. We will read the novel aloud together. As we read, we will learn about the different ways that people learn, grow, and adapt to their surroundings. With each chapter we will focus on word pronunciation and examine the vocabulary and writing strategies used. We will also build our comprehension knowledge and make personal connections to the characters. This uplifting novel will help students learn that everyone feels like they don't fit in sometimes, that everyone is smart in different ways, and that they can be a great influence on another person.

About my class
