My project will provide tools for students that learn differently (such as bands for the chair to improve focus and attention and grips for a pencil to improve handwriting). It will also enable new strategies for executive functioning. By having elastic bands on their chairs and pencil grips for their pencils they will be able to sit for and compose work. The various supplies requested include multiple types of pencil grips and modified writing tools for children that can't maintian a functional grasp. Special markers are also requested to help me implement an executive functioning strategy. When given the proper learning environment students can achieve their goals, keep up with peers, feel successful, and make a difference in this world. Whether a student has ADHD, a learning disability such as dyslexia, or sensory processing difficulties, small changes to the classroom environment and modifications can truly make the difference.
