This project enables my students to be able to participate in fun and educational learning activities on our class set of computers. Most students come from unfortunate home lives, and cannot afford many of the school supplies on the list. Providing my students with headphones will help them focus on their work without distraction. It will also help them become technologically literate and engage in collaboration in this 21st century. Some of the activities they partake in on the computers provide them with vital practice in content areas of math and English language arts. As second graders, my students are still developing their basic reading and mathematics skills that will provide them with a foundation to succeed in the future grades to come. They have accounts and multiple websites that engage them in fun games that allow them to practice their math fluency skills and reading/phonics skills. Using headphones keeps students focused on the task at hand without distraction, and therefore obtaining more out of the technological activities.
