Students must have the confidence to share answers, ideas, thoughts, and feelings. We all live in a world of judgement. My goal this year is to create a classroom atmosphere where students feel to free to answer questions, have classroom conversations, and take chances without peer judgment. I want a classroom where students are not afraid to fail, but can attack any challenge with the knowledge that failure often times brings success.
My students will establish a free of judgement, strong classroom community by participating in multiple team building activities.
CHUCK THE CHICKEN: A game where students chuck a rubber chicken and must use team effort to sort through a physical, hilarious game for all students to gain confidence in each other. The rubber chickens will also be used throughout the year to review curriculum and participate in multiple physical education games.
BLIND FOLD PARTNER FIND: Students must find their animal partner blindfolded, relying on sound only. If I say "oink," I find my partner saying, "oink." Blind folds are also used for review games such as "Swat the Fly," etc.
Speaker: Feel free by listening, singing, and dancing using our new speaker. The more comfortable the student feels, the more students participate. The speaker will be used to take outside during physical education, active curriculum review
MAP FIND: Get to know your classmates by showing were you've been in the USA or sharing USA knowledge.
CONVERSATION GAMES: This is a great way to get to know each other. Questions open the door to great friendships and knowledge.
OTHER GAMES: hopscotch, ulimate frisbee, and so many more active games that allow students to build team confidence. A class that plays together, stays together. WE CAN ACCOMPLISH HARD THINGS if we trust each other.
