A Confident Voice with Chromebooks!

Funded Oct 12, 2019

Our data has increased based on national and statewide testing with our students with disabilities! Most of our students (K-5) have increased in performance on grade level assessments and have had an opportunity to truly show what they know on classroom assignments. Classroom projects and writing in upper grades 3-5 have become increasingly inclusive as students have had an opportunity to use technology through apps and programs on their computers!

When I asked our students to write thank you notes to our spectacular donors, one young student asked, "if the donors can see how hard we work?" While it's impossible to bring each of you to observe their excitement and focus as they approach the new computers. I'll ask you to reflect on the first time you realized the benefit of technology in your life; whether it was a new phone that allowed you to use speech to text for an email with ease, or greater bandwidth for your internet which allowed you to quickly download with greater ease. You are likely to recall the feeling of amazement or the excitement to continue an assignment. Our students experience that feeling each time they retrieve the computers and use the programs and apps that allow then to easily access the general education curriculum.

Words cannot express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for your gift. Our children have a voice and learning that differences in learning should and must be celebrated and encouraged!”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Parker
