The voice recording devices can be used in a variety of ways to assist a nonverbal child to communicate. For example, favorite foods, toys, and/or activities can be recorded on the devices and presented to the student who can now make a choice and have greater control of his environment. Now he has the opportunity to make a choice that any listener will understand. In another situation a greeting and/or farewell can be recorded and then, as the student travels the school halls or enters his core classroom, he can greet his peers and his teachers or even ask them questions. This will build his self esteem and confidence and create positive social relationships!
