• Fresh New Art Supplies and Books!

  Words cannot express how grateful we all are for your generous donations. It was so lovely to start the year off by offering my students brand-new materials they have all come to love. We use our art expression supplies daily, and it has become their favorite part of the day. Our classroom library is finally organized and students have been able to navigate the library easily, quickly finding the books they love and want to read.

  I hope you know that you have helped make my classroom a warm and inviting place, promoting a love for the arts and literacy.

• Multicultural Library Here We Come!

  I cannot begin to explain how great your donations has been. Students have loved having new, good quality books. There's one book they specifically have loved called Hair Love. They are constantly grabbing for that book! A book that represents them, they can see themselves in that character. They have also loved learning about other peoples culture and seeing it portrayed in stories. This was no small act. You have helped changed these children's lives and most importantly, started a love for reading and learning. Thank you!”

• Spanish Literature Galore!

  I want to start of my expressing my deepest gratitude for everyone's generosity. This project was funded in less than 2 days! That's amazing!!! We are si fortunate to have such a caring and giving community.

  The second graders were ecstatic when they saw all those packages arrive. They loved having their favorites like Dog Man and were beyond excited when they saw new series they had never read before like Bad Guys. They can't wait for reading workshop, to get their hands on these books. I love seeing them so engaged and excited to read; in Spanish!!!

• New Reading & Class Materials for Second Grade Class

  Firstly, the second grade students would like to give you all a huge thank you for your donations!

  The kids were ecstatic when they heard our projects had been funded. They could not wait for the new items and we would frequently look out the window waiting for the delivery man to bring our new materials!

  The kids first reaction when the seat sacks were put on the chairs was instant jaw dropping. They said: " Wow, the classroom looks so fun and bright now!" The also love having their own space to put books and materials.

  They are also so happy with their flexible seating items like the bouncy bands and has helped with concentration.

  Their favorite items were definitely the books. They are eager and excited to read everyday now that they have books that interest them.

• Multicultural Library Corner

  Firstly, the Second Grade class at BMPV wants to give each and every one of you a huge thanks!

  The students have absolutely fallen in love with the new fiction books they got, it's their favorite genre! Every day, they are excited to head into reading workshop now that they have books they are interested in and cozy furniture to read and learn in.

  In our school, we use a reading workshop curriculum. This means, they students get a mini lesson on different reading strategies they can use and how to decode words in spanish. They are eager and excited to read now that they have spanish books that interest them!

  The books (and furniture) have been especially helpful with the kids who do not come from a spanish speaking home. Now that they have unique, cool books, they are constantly asking to read and feel proud of themselves when they decode words they weren't able to before. They have also mentioned they love coming to our classroom library because we have comfy furniture!
