With the ever changes of teaching and learning in the classroom (mostly due to COVID), classroom headphones are an essential tool for my 34 students. Classroom headphones will allow my students to maintain their focus and participate in a wider variety of activities and assignments. They are noise-reducing to help students focus on their work and improve their performance. Many assignments feature supplemental videos to help them gain a better understanding of topics and material. I also have several students who require text to speech. Text-to-speech (TTS) is an assistive technology in which a computer or tablet reads the words on the screen out loud to the user. This technology is popular among students who have difficulties with reading, especially those who struggle with decoding. By presenting the words auditorily, the student can focus on the meaning of words instead of spending all their brain power trying to sound out the words. This function requires headphones in the classroom and are very beneficial.
