• Easy, Breezy, Beautiful!

  Is there anything as fun as opening a new package? I don't think so! My classroom has always had a strong focus on learning at the highest levels. I try to have a wide variety of experiences for my students that are high interest and also on an intermediate level.

  Thanks to your generous support, our school year was more fun as we were able to make kites! My students have loved every minute of doing this art project that supported both math and science education. There were even enough supplies to be able to replicate this project for more students!

• Cultural Art for the Holidays

• Mastering Geometry With Magna Tiles

  Is there anything as fun as opening a new package? I don't think so! My classroom has always had a strong focus on learning at the highest levels. I try to have a wide variety of experiences for my students that are high interest and also on an intermediate level.

  Thanks to your generous support, our school year is more complete now that we have the supplies we need to practice geometry with Magna Tiles! This means that my students are able to take on the challenge and joy of learning geometry from a conceptual level. Many students need a hands-on approach to math, and these manipulative pieces have made a huge difference in how my students respond to learning new concepts. My students have loved every minute of using these Magna Tiles.

• Focus on Cursive

  Is there anything as fun as opening a new package? I don't think so! My classroom has always had a strong focus on learning at the highest levels. I try to have a wide variety of experiences for my students that are high interest and also on an intermediate level.

  Thanks to your generous support, our school year is more complete now that we have the supplies we need to learn cursive! This means that my students are able to take on the challenge and joy of learning to write in cursive. For too many years, cursive handwriting has fallen by the wayside. With the new law came a renewed vigor for teaching the art of cursive. My students have loved every minute of it.

This means that my students are able to make learning meaningful to them as they take notes, interact with them through foldable pages and graphic organizers, and draw pictures to aide their learning.

• Native Language Literacy

  Is there anything as fun as opening a new package of books? I don't think so! My classroom has always had a strong literacy focus. I try to have a wide variety of books for my students that are high interest and also on an intermediate level. This has been a real challenge for students who are new to the United States and are not yet fluent English proficient.

  Thanks to your generous support, our library is more complete now that we have additional books in Spanish. This means that my newcomer students are able to continue to grow more literate in their native language as they learn English. Many of the books are the same now in both languages, which provides an added emotional benefit of fitting in with their peers.

• Back to School in Person

  Funded Apr 6, 2021

  The supplies received made their way directly to all students and they were thrilled! This note is late, but the supplies were used both last year and this year and were appreciated very much! Students were able to make the kites, learn more about science and math standards, and have a lot of fun doing something we would not have been able to do without your help. Some students even made two kites! It was incredibly exciting to see students who struggled with other concepts come alive with this hands-on project. One student in particular was so successful, he went around helping others. Thank you!”

• The Art of Cursive Composition

  Funded Feb 23, 2021

  My students and I appreciate you more than words can really say, but if they were to try, they could write it in cursive! We were all so excited to see the new journals specifically designed for cursive instruction. My students really looked forward to our cursive lessons each week. They moved from letters to words, words to sentences, and on to paragraphs. One student wrote an entire short story in cursive without being asked to do so. This is especially amazing because she was a full time distance learning student and had no in person instruction. We started this a bit later in the school year, however, all students enjoyed and benefitted from this project. I hope to repeat this project again in the future! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

• For Which We Stand

  Funded Dec 1, 2020

  Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our classroom. The books we received, "For Which We Stand", have given my students a better understanding of the way our government works. In these politically polarizing times, it was very nice to have a resource that I could share with the students that was straightforward and unbiased in every way. All students enjoyed the easy to read text. My class (and others, I will share with my partners!) will continue to reference this book throughout the year, and for years to come.”
