Funded Aug 6, 2021The books that was donated to my classroom helped in bringing back the joy of reading. Students were able to read the books to help them in learning and understanding the theme (lesson/message) of the story. As well as interpreting the author's point of view. What the author thinks and feels about what is going on in the story. By having a book study, students were able to put themselves in the story to understand how the characters are feeling/thinking. In the end, students learned the lesson or message the author was portraying.
I teach in an inclusion classroom, where there are many different learning styles. To capture my students attention I love reading books that they are able to relate to. When students are able to relate, they are able to understand and picture what they are learning.
There are many students that are enjoying the new books! One student in particular is a girl, she shared that she enjoys reading. She especially loves fiction books. Another student is a boy, at first he was not excited. But after the first two chapters it captured his attention and he began to enjoy reading the book. Students will be able to take this book home as their Christmas present to enjoy with their families!”
With gratitude,
