  • Book Club!

    Funded Mar 5, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. We have been using the books in class. Students are able to do book studies using these books. Students have learned character, setting, and plot with the books.

There are many small groups during my reading block. I have a wide range of different learning abilities. With the variety of different learning levels I was able to order a range of books that meet my students needs.

All students are enjoying the books. They love it because we do not have a library at our school so they are able to borrow books from our classroom library.”

  • My Own Business

    Funded Oct 28, 2022

My students used the resources that you provided them to make their Market Day Project. They had to make a craft and open their very own business. Students were able to make beaded bracelets, laminated drawings, paintings, and crafts with the materials.

Students were very appreciative and excited to use the materials that were provided. They had smiles on their faces while working on their products.

Students were able to sell their arts and crafts at Market Day. They were able to understand how much it costs to make a product using the crafts that were donated. Thank you so much your generous donations, we truly appreciate!”

  • What Fun!

    Funded Mar 6, 2022

Through you generous donations we've been having birthday celebrations in our class. The students are so appreciative when we give them their birthday gifts. They love receiving the wiki sticks and cube. The students are happy to be back in person, but at the same time be safe. We have been using the sprayers to help students sanitize their hands. This helps to keep the germs away.

When the students received their wiki sticks and cubes they had a huge smile on their faces. They were excited and eager to start using them. The students are very mindful when they are using the spray bottles when they sanitize, but appreciate it because they know that they are doing their part to stay safe.

Next, students will be using the water colors to paint a Mother's Day gift. Students will also begin to use the jump ropes at recess. I will first show them and teach them how to jump rope. These activities will help foster a positive environment for my students and at the same time brings smiles to their faces. We appreciate your generosity and support!”

  • Help Our Students Learn in Person

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

The books that was donated to my classroom helped in bringing back the joy of reading. Students were able to read the books to help them in learning and understanding the theme (lesson/message) of the story. As well as interpreting the author's point of view. What the author thinks and feels about what is going on in the story. By having a book study, students were able to put themselves in the story to understand how the characters are feeling/thinking. In the end, students learned the lesson or message the author was portraying.

I teach in an inclusion classroom, where there are many different learning styles. To capture my students attention I love reading books that they are able to relate to. When students are able to relate, they are able to understand and picture what they are learning.

There are many students that are enjoying the new books! One student in particular is a girl, she shared that she enjoys reading. She especially loves fiction books. Another student is a boy, at first he was not excited. But after the first two chapters it captured his attention and he began to enjoy reading the book. Students will be able to take this book home as their Christmas present to enjoy with their families!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yoshida

  • Let The Fun Begin With Recess!

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations for my classroom. My students are loving their recess equipment. One specific moment was when they were playing kickball. Students were cheering for one another and enjoying their time. I could see their eyes light up when they were about to kick the ball. Moments like these are precious and memorable for my students.

My students were in awe when they received their indoor/outdoor recess equipment. They were surprised that they each had their very own indoor recess container filled with supplies. They love playing with the play dough and using their imaginations to create figures/characters. Students also use the rubik cube to challenge their minds. The wiki sticks are a hands on experience for them. Students create many things with it such as flowers, people, and animals. They love sharing what they have created with me and their peers.

The next steps for my students is to continue using the these indoor activities throughout the school year. These donations truly help transition my students back to in-person learning.”

    Ms. Yoshida
