Currently I teach first grade in a culturally diverse community in New York State. Not only is English not all of their first languages, but a few students have speech articulation issues. By having a listening center in my classroom it would allow my students a way to learn to read fluently, improve their current reading fluency, improve their articulation, and strengthen their listening skills. A listening center opens up a whole new world for my students to build on their strengths and have success.
